friends, food and phantom
the last few days have been really fun. It's like I'm having a holiday, before my term's even ended.
a whole bunch of ppl were in london over the wkend, most notably honmun, who flew all the way across the atlantic to be here. Heh. Over the last couple of days we did some of the touristy stuff, had a lot of good food (bayswater duck rice, japanese food, krispy kreme donuts etc), and even more laughs. It was thoroughly enjoyable, especially when we sat down and talked cock at the starbucks at hay's galleria near tower bridge (emen and jixian, u guys should start a sitcom, really).
the highlight for me, though, had to be phantom. After so many (16? 18?) years , the phantom of the opera still rocks. Fantastic music, gripping storyline, and a great cast combine to make it my favourite west end musical. John Owen-Jones makes a terrific phantom; his voice is amazing, sounds at least as good as the phantom in my mp3s (Michael Crawford, I think).
after the last few days, today has been positively sedate. Everyone's gone from london now, and it's back to lectures (sigh). Went running with teck just now, cos it's sunny today (but man was it cold.. the wind chill really sucks... ). Consequently, I'm feeling contented, though also quite tired. Probably need to get some (more) sleep. Mind is becoming a complete blank....
only the strains of the music of the night echo in the empty spaces of my consciousness:
'say you'll share with me, one love, one lifetime.........'
