6 more days to first paper
realize that the last couple of posts have been pretty boring. Unfortunately this one is going to continue the pattern. Life gets real boring when exams are looming ominously in the near future. How boring (yes, that's the third time I'm using the word).
been browsing around the web for new cellphones. Coz I plan to get one when I go back this summer (duh). That's not the only thing I wanna get; planning to build a desktop too (hopefully this doesn't go the way of the other 90% of my plans ie. down the longkang). Why do I need a new desktop, u might wonder, when I'll be spending approximately 95% of my time stuck in army, and the other 5% sleeping off the trauma. Well, I'm secretly hoping that somehow I'll actually get some leisure time. In which case a PC that's marginally faster than, say, a comatose snail would come in handy. The laptop's a bit geriatric now, time for it to retire and enjoy its CPF savings (and migrate to the UK too, if it doesn't die first).
hmm.. confucius is shedding. Are squirrels supposed to shed?
I've recently acquired a(nother) roommate. For now I'll just call it Spidey. Spidey moved in a couple of days ago. On that fateful day, I woke up to scraping noises on the other side of my room wall. Momentarily attributed it to some kind-hearted soul finally renovating the crummy toilet on my floor (I'm never at my sharpest when I just wake up). In any case, I eventually concluded that my neighbour was probably wallpapering or scraping paint off the wall. Spidey was just a poor refugee who had to flee when its home was wrecked by the chaos. Under the UN's auspices I offered it shelter until peace arrives and it thinks it's safe to go back home. Unfortunately like a lot of refugees it seems to have taken to its new surroundings. So far attempts to evict it have been unsuccessful. Spidey is currently in hiding, and attempts to locate it have met with limited success. There's a chance that Spidey might already be dead: knowing that there was no way I could follow, it very cleverly jumped into the heater during an eviction attempt last night. Although, seeing as no remains have so far been found, I'm inclined to believe that Spidey is still at large. Oh well. Maybe it'll eat up all the insects currently inhabiting my living space. I could use fewer roommates.
maybe Spidey will bite me later and when I wake up tomorrow I'll have a well-muscled body and the ability to travel round london by attaching sticky secretions to buildings. Mmm...
