raindrops pattering the skylight
think I prefer jogging right after I wake up to jogging in the middle of the afternoon (though the time difference isn't that great, considering when I usually wake up). That way I get an endorphin high to start the day, and it doesn't feel so tiring.
symptom of living too long in one place: I can recognize the cars regularly parked in the area. Like the Lotus, and this Merc with the license plate Y1 BAG (I'd like to know why too). There's lots of posh cars around the neighbourhood, and I bet half of those are cheaper than one average Toyota in S'pore. C'est la vie.
came across a collection of letters written by an expat (and his wife) about s'pore. Interesting to see a familiar place from a different perspective, although some of the views are pretty commonly aired. Really should read this.
received an envelope from PSC today. Opened it to find another envelope, which was sent from UCL to PSC. Opened that to find a notice about the graduation ceremony, which seeing as it's on the 10th of september, I wouldn't be able to attend even if I wanted to (can just imagine the scenario: OCT lit: sir, can get leave to attend my grad ceremony or not? lit's PC: &*(#&*(@^!# u trying to chao keng issit! Nevermind u go knock it down first! Then go sign 10000 extra!). So basically this letter - sent on 5 april - went across the globe twice in 2 weeks, chalking up airmail expenses along the way, before reaching its destination, which happens to be 25 minutes' walk away from the point of origin. And soon after it finally arrived, it met its inglorious end in the dustbin (yeah I know: I'm an unappreciative sod).
it's a funny old world, all right.
