On course, off course

I never figured I was suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder until I went on course.

It's amazing how little I actually manage to catch during my classes. Essentially I spend the first 5-10 minutes of the day listening to my DS. After that I slip into daydreams for the next 5-30 minutes, before I surface and take in some more information. The cycle repeats for the rest of the day, so that at the end I can only recall short snippets of facts, ideas, conversations, concepts etc.

With a beer belly and less hair I could pass off as Homer Simpson.

Apart from being unable to learn virtually anything of note so far, I'm quite enjoying the course. My syndicate is on the whole pretty fun. It's very diverse and there's lots of different stories to share. Makes learning - or in my case, failing to learn - quite enjoyable. Being in SAFTI again is a major plus, since this time I can go home every day. Hot showers are, I've discovered, a powerful temptation.

So, things are generally rosy, although I do have an AOS assignment coming up tomorrow. It's supposed to last 6 hours, although in all likelihood it'll go beyond that. Painful, but they don't train SAF officers for nothing.
