still in limbo, part 2
(was going to blog this when some resolution to the matter hobbled into view. Then I realised that SAF working processes are to glacial movements what a beat-up bike is to Michael Schumacher's Ferrari. And that my life expectancy isn't measured in millennia.)
got a phone call on tues from this guy at cmpb.
apparently they think I should be going for an eye appointment on the 12 of aug. And they want me to go earlier.
I had to point out to the guy (in a rather civilized way, unfortunately) that I am going earlier.
as a matter of fact, I'm actually going
LAST WEDNESDAY.
strange that, with all the money that's being dumped into Mindef, no one bothered to order some brain cells for the folks at cmpb.
maybe since the army is going 'high-tech' cmpb can now have robots that can do everything that is currently being done by bochup conscript clerks.
PLUS THE ABILITY TO DO PROPER FILING. (GASP!!!)
I know that there's an induction programme that's supposed to help re-enlistees get used to army life again. A small part of me is wondering if this whole surreal process isn't some secret portion of the programme. Like 'here's a reminder of just how screwed up your life can get when u're press-ganged into the army'.
OK, I remember now. Just cut it out, OK?????
I could go on and on with my ranting. But I suspect that it'll get boring. And anyway I'm sure that there's going to be LOTS more along the same lines in the immediate future, so some restraint is in order. Otherwise I'll run out of vocab for criticism.
it's going to be a long 2 years man..
