typing this over cookies and cream from island creamery, which is a
small ice cream shop at serene centre that sells amazingly
mouthwatering ice cream in many wonderful flavours (see article). The delightful taste almost makes up for all the stuff that happened this week.
okay, to tell the truth, things probably weren't that bad. I'm just
whiny and pissed cos I spent my saturday doing guard duty at ocs, due
to another last minute screwup. Being activated doesn't really put me
in a nice mood. But I'll just leave it at that, before the bile buildup
causes me to explode and splatter my internal organs all over my
desktop.
on the bright side: at least I've cleared all my extras. YEAH.
this past week was pretty low key, in terms of training. Spent a lot of
time in lecture theatres. Maybe that contributed to the general sense
of lethargy that caused more than one instructor to blow his top at us.
It's tough being the most senior cadet wing in ocs, cos everyone will
be looking at you, all the time.
I've lost count of the number of times we've been scolded/punished for
this or that. The tolerance level for mistakes is very, very low when
you're a senior cadet. ![]()
apart from lectures and admin stuff, we tried out stuff like FOFO and
SEOC. Think i'm still recovering from my thai experience. Fitness level
is not up to scratch, and feeling v tired most of the time. After one
week of training, hopefully my cardiovascular system has worked its way
back to something resembling normalcy; want to get my IPPT gold ASAP so
I can avoid RT and book out earlier. Gotta jump further/ run faster
though.
perhaps the most important thing now though is for me to be more
positive about being where I am. Complaining doesn't really help the
situation, although it does help relieve the frustration sometimes.
Still, I guess the most constructive thing to do is just to keep
plugging away and trying to look on the bright side of things. I must
admit it's kind of a foreign concept, but hey, life is about learning
right?
on a seperate note: just found out that one of my sec 4 classmates broke his bond. The things you read in the paper...
