the mysteries of life

For the life of me, I can't figure this one out.

Take a look at my friend. He's smart (political econ grad from a prestigious public uni in california; no prizes for guessing which one), capable, outgoing, articulate, and interesting. He was one of the top fe cadets in our cohort, and his family is pretty well off. And just for good measure, he's currrently an American citizen.

And he apparently can't find a girlfriend.

It's not like he's deformed; he's pretty pleasant looking in fact (although seeing as I'm a guy, it's hard to comment on this with any amount of accuracy). I just can't understand why he's not desperately fighting off girls. Maybe he's just picky. It's hard to find another explanation for it.

Sometimes, life gets supremely strange.
