Context is King

One of the good things about losing all the contacts in my old phone is that I can be puzzled by a strange caller without feeling guilty about it. Otherwise I might have to spend my days wracked with the misery of having alienated people not important enough to for me to remember their phone number. In any case, my contact list was probably due for a purge. Goodbye unknown-camp-medic of yore, and other disembodied names floating amongst the circuits. It's a different life now.

Curiously, life this week has been pretty slack. I actually got to catch the last few rays of daylight on a couple of occasions. Of course, it could just be due to me being more switched off than usual; it's been known to happen.

It's not to say that I haven't learnt anything. Probably the most striking lesson was finding out how hard it is to be a useful middleman. Value-adding is a difficult act, and I haven't really mastered it yet. Since I'm often called upon to be an intermediary of sorts, it makes sense to learn how to fill this particular niche. After all, a middleman is either a help or a hindrance; no prizes for guessing which is preferred.

And besides, things are going to pick up again real soon. I have maybe one more month of relative peace, before the sky starts falling. Blogging may soon become a luxury, just like catching sunsets and sleep. Geez, I can hardly wait.
