Happenings
Been a while since the last post. Tried to write something about the exhibition at SAM, the one Zaha Hadid designed for Deutsche Bank. Went to have a look last Fri, and I was impressed by the way she crafts the spaces to influence the expreience (going with an architect helped). Couldn't find the words to express my sentiments, so all I can say is, please go take a look (helpful tip: SAM has free admission on Fri from 6pm onwards.)
It was a bit slow, but I finally caught S'pore Dreaming. It was better than I expected. There were some poignant moments, like the scene where Lim Yu-beng pores out his sorrows to a Chinese streetwalker. Blatant product placement and dodgy sound editing notwithstanding, this is a pretty creditable effort. Glad I managed to catch it.
While I'm on the topic of local films, in case you haven't heard, the National Museum is showing local films every Wed night till the end of Nov. Teenage Textbook was shown last week; next up is Eric Khoo's 12 Storeys. You can check out the full schedule here.
With that, it's adieu to the weekend, and hello to another busy week. Another five mind-numbingly hectic days coming up. I'm feeling weary already..
