Gadget Delight

My most profound gratitude goes to the person who invented the wheel. Without his handy invention, I'd never have managed to lug the canon mp450 back from Comex. The printer was much bigger than I'd expected, and the box was correspondingly bulky. Thanks to the trolley the Canon ppl provided, a potential hernia case became nothing more hazardous than extreme grocery shopping.

Here's the box and trolley, with my table for a comparison of size:

After much trouble (when was it otherwise), I managed to get the printer up and running. Right now, that large menacing beast is perched on a corner of my computer desk.

Its presence is unmistakable; when it prints, I can feel the table shake, as the trembling earth beneath the wrath of a volcano god. Suspect it may be time to find a sturdier computer table; must be providence that an IKEA catalogue turned up in my mailbox today.

Normally I'm not much of a gadget freak, but I've been waiting for a while to get both the new phone and the printer. That I managed to get them in the space of a week just makes things sweeter. Of course, that also means I have to spend twice the amount of time figuring out how to use my new toys. But hey, that's what I call a happy problem =).
