watching sparks fly
went to watch the finale of the fireworks festival this evening. It was awesome, almost 10 minutes of continuous explosions and pretty patterns traced across the night sky. Especially liked the ones with smileys and those that explode and leave thick glittering yellow trails. Took some pics on my mobile, but too bad I can't transfer them to the PC, and upload them onto the net. One day perhaps, when I get an IR connection for my PC.
I have no idea why the fireworks display impressed me so much. Maybe it's the noise, maybe the glitter, or maybe it's a combination of both. Whatever the case, the fireworks just reached all the way down to the primevial depths of my being and flicked the switch marked 'intense fascination'.
judging by the size of the crowds at marina square and esplanade, I wasn't the only one either. The area was crammed with hordes of ppl, and trying to find a spot to watch the show was a real bother (lost count of number of envious looks cast at ppl attending private function on roof terrace of esplanade). But fortunately we had a relatively good view of events, and we could catch all of the high-altitude spectacular stuff. Serendipity strikes. Heh.
on a totally diff note: been informed that ronald susilo just beat the world number one in the olympics badminton competition. How cool is that??!
it's been a good day.
