the lighter side of life
the past 7 days have been a good time to slack. Ideally I would have
liked to take a couple days leave from work as well but it just didn't
turn out that way. Still, it's been enjoyable. Played soccer on thurs
(deepavali); played a bit of volleyball on mon; watched 'before sunset'
on the same day; and been playing FM 2005 like a maniac since I bought
it on sat. Keep wishing I don't have to go to work so I can stay at
home and finish my first season. (it's ok if you don't know what I'm
raving about, you have to be a certain kind of football nut to enjoy
games like FM 2005.)
speaking of games, the guys in my office are going nuts about world of warcraft.
Apparently it's the most enjoyable MMORPG (if you're interested, that
means Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game; if you're not,
just think of it as another bit of the arcane rubbish that I produce
with distressing regularity) ever produced by anyone,
man, woman or Microsoft. Those guys are hooked on it like addicts to
morphine; and they're only playing the open beta, not even the full
game. And they're not the most crazy ones; those are the weirdos bidding for other ppl's characters on ebay.
in the last couple of days, there's been a thought that sometimes sneaks into my head
and splatters itself in huge neon letters across my consciousness
before fleeing. It says:
I"M GOING TO BE A CADET AGAIN IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!
